I thought we'd celebrate the fact that it's Friiiday by entering the lovely world of Swedish photographer, interior and food stylist Anna Kvarnstrm. Anna is one talented lady, who also counts 'designer' among her skills (many of her own prints can be seen throughout her home in rebro and she also creates brochures, logos and other materials for companies). I love how Anna has decorated her home using rich contrasts, beautiful patterns and interesting pieces. Let's take a tour...

Soure: All photos by Anna Kvarnstrm / Concept by Anna. Shared with kind permission.

*sigh* simply lovely. There's something so romantic about it, don't you think?

A few items I know and love:  workspace - artist's wooden hand, Le paper bag, Helmut Newton poster. Kitchen / dining: linen tablecloth, Skultuna candleholder and Lily candlestick, Lindform vases (love these ceramics), vintage terracotta pots. Upstairs landing - Emma Von Brmssens 'Dancing Crane' wallpaper (beautiful!). Hall - William Morris 'Seaweed Silver' wallpaper. Bedroom - 'guide to manhattan' print.

You can keep up to date with Anna's latest projects (as well as beautiful snapshots of her home) over at her blog and instagram (see you there?!).

And before I head off and leave you to have a wonderful weekend, here's a little link love to enjoy over the next couple of days:

Just how amazing are the colours in these rooms shared by Gudy Herder (who I had the pleasure of meeting at the Amara blog awards last year - she's awesome).

15 floors that totally steal the show!

And this blue colour blocking?!

Where I'd like to be right now.

My latest instagram find - Swedish blogger and photographer Jaquelina Mikuta. So inspiring!

Pretty weekend hair

Mouthwatering moments: no churn ice-cream and spice-rosemary and seasalt brownies mmmmm!

Have a great couple of days!

Loving that it's Friday already! My home has been turned upside down due to a shoot in my office with friend and stylist Gen of The Youngsters. I'm feeling the weekend vibe all the same, which is why I'm inviting you to step inside the lovely, relaxed home of Domino magazine's cover star Ulla Johnson today. Born and raised in Manhattan, Ulla Johnson lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children and runs a successful clothing line with an eponymous name featuring beautiful custom prints, intricate embroideries and fine tailoring.  Her home has been decorated using light colours and warm textures and furnished with vintage finds from New York as well as far flung places. Enjoy!

Pia Ulin, the talented photographer behind this shoot hales from Sweden but is also Brooklyn based. I've featured quite a few homes captured by her before - including Jessica De Ruiter's fabulous LA home, a cool, calm and collected Danish home and that Gotland retreat! Yup, she's got that knack....

Right, better get on with that shoot I was talking about...

Have a great one and see you Monday!

I was chatting to the owner of Miloii, a beautiful lifestyle shop here in Malm, Southern Sweden earlier this week and she let slip that her home had recently been captured by Andrea Papini and Emma Persson Lagerberg. Naturally I shot home to scour the net, and as predicted, Karolina Vertus (who is also a stylist and make-up artist) has the most beautiful apartment. Married to Daniel Magnusson, the couple live with their two young daughters in the centre of town and have decorated their home in soft, muted tones and the perfect blend of modern design and bohemian vintage finds. Let's take a peek....

What a lovely relaxed family home, don't you think?!

If you live in or around Malm, first, why haven't we met for coffee?! And two, many of the items you see can be bought at Miloii - although I'd like to warn you that the store also sells the most fabulous clothes (very dangerous indeed!).

For everyone else here's a quick guide on where to find some of the beautiful pieces in Karolina's home: sitting room Ay Illuminate Z1 light, Beni Ourain rug, small and large Gubi mirror, Lamp from Madam Stoltz. Kitchen / dining: Petite Friture Vertigo pendant light, Charlotte Perriand les arcs chairs, Tolix chairsHouse doctor metal filing cabinet, Tine K Home rug. Hallway: this industrial pendant is similar, source a Boucherouite rug here. Trinnie's room: cute Ferm Living Dorm storage, Numero 74 bed canopy.

Thank you to photographer Andrea Papini for giving me the kind permission to share this home tour, he's fast becoming one of my favourite interior photographers - I also love this home in nearby Lund he captured last year.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

PS Don't forget to make the most of your 10% off beautiful pieces from Orchard Jewelry with code MSH01.

Hello! I hope you're having a great start to the week? Thank you so much to Johanne for the guest post yesterday - doesn't she have a fab home? We're heading up to the hill-country village of Ella here in Sri Lanka later today and hoping to visit some tea plantations - as a Brit the prospect of being surrounded by tea all afternoon sounds like heaven! It's also a far cry from the flat lands of North Holland, which is beautiful in a different kind of way. And the owners of this Dutch residence, Rixt and Arjan have found their own beautiful spot close to the sea in Frisian Hemelum.  The duo were living in Curacao when they took the big step to buy a stolp farm along with vestibule and convert it into two unique places to stay. The spaces have been decorated with vintage pieces found on the internet and a mix of materials such as wool, cotton, felt, glass, marble, stone, and wood for a warm and relaxed, homely feel. Enjoy!

Styling: Sabine Burkunk. Photography: Hans Mossel, shared with kind permission. VT Wonen Aug 2015.

I think I'm in home heaven! This is exactly my kind of style. Personal, relaxed and brimming with personality.

What do you think?

Get the look: Source beautiful kilim rugs here, I love these vintage school charts, this 50's rattan plant holder is similar (there's only one though.....). Palma lounge chair. This hand blown demi-john wine bottle is similar. Round rush floor mat

You can see more pics of these two lovely spaces over at VT Wonen here

I always get really excited by the homes photographer Hans Mossel and Sabine Burkunk capture- they're often relaxed and cheerful and always unique. Another example includes this quirky home. Fab colours!

Other links I love today:

Thank you Valentina Fussell for this review of my book - her photographs (as always) are stunning and I wish I could look that glam reading my book! I was also thrilled to see this piece about Modern Pastoral in Architectural Digest too!

37 outfits that are so New York (but wouldn't look out of place in Sweden either....).

A serene white and brown living room in Copenhagen.

An office in nudes (no, not that kind of nude!).

How about these yummy looking mini pavlova's for pudding (or, just whenever really - one every hour?!) this week....?

Finnish designs for the little ones.

Have a lovely day!

PS If you've taken any photos of your copy of Modern Pastoral I'd love to see / share them!

According to Pop Sugar, when photographer Nicolette Johnson posted these pictures of her 1920's apartment on Reddit, it sent the site into overdrive. I can totally see why. Not only is it filled with warm textures, beautiful vintage furniture, and unique touches. The entire space has been put together on a shoe-string budget too. How inspiring?! ! Let's take a peak....

Lovely!

Can you understand the hype?!

Etsy is a great source for finding many of the items you see in Nicolette's lovely home.

I have to say I'm in a bit of a hurry today as I'm busy preparing for my book launch tonight - so exciting, but so much to do eeeeeeeek! I was thrilled to read this review with stunning photos of the book by the talented Emily Quinton today - thank you so much Emily!

Have a lovely day!
